Just tryin' to get by

Well yet another work week has gone and passed and ever so slowly the trip is approaching. The itch to pack is slowly creeping up and I have started a list of to-do's before I go. 1. Get some new northern lures. (Check) 2. Gotta charge the batteries to the Aqua cam. Man I hope that thing works. 3. Gotta get all the new reels lined and prolly line Chewp's while I am at it. 4. Need to get a new rainsuit but I dont wanna jinx myself so i am not gonna. 5. Try not to get a DUI cuz I really wanna go on this trip! (Check) 6. Buy some new underwear cuz with the pounding my arse is gonna take for a week I need something to keep me snug. Well i think that's it...I do check the minnows every day to make sure they dont get frost bite. Man I'm a tool!! Anyways, here is what I am looking forward to:

We are Oh So Close...

Well these 2 pictures are the true meaning of vacationing in the great outdoors. If you have never visited an outpost in Canada then you do not know what you are missing. It almost becomes an addiction to say the least. The journey begins with a dreadful 18 hour drive, but countless stories, watching the look on some ladies face as she opens the women's bathroom at 2am in Duluth, and breakfast at the Chocolate Moose will make the drive so much quicker. Only 5 more staff meetings to go until we hit good 'ol 136 West to 74 North. Man am I ready to hit the road! Until next time...

Hope the Walleyes are Hungry

Well, Rich, Chewp and I met out at the 'ol honey hole again tonight for yet another round of minnows vs. the cast net. Let me put it to you this way, the cast net won 633 keepers to maybe 100 that got away. I am planning on scheduling my first chiropractic appointment in the morning due to the haul. Chewp got some good videotape footage of the ordeal that should make for some great viewing. Rich and I waded the creek and we finally came to a spot where we had pushed them far enough that they couldn't go any further and it was like taking candy from a baby. We salted 633 on the night and have surpassed the 2000 mark. Only 4 weeks to go to put these bad boys to good use. Walleyes and 40 inch Northerners BEWARE!! Until next time...
